CookDiary is an elegant software solution for storing your favorite cooking recipes. It also does more than that: print recipes, displays cooking instructions, plans your future meals in a calendar, creates menus and shopping lists, and etc.
Quality of the interface is excellent from all points of view (aspect, behavior, organization, user-friendliness). You can get familiarized with the functionalities of the program right away. Tooltips are there to help you where you need it.
In the free version of this software, there are two example recipes included. They help you understand how they’re built and you can make your own in no time. Ingredients, instructions, duration, nutrition information and more can be added and modified easily.
When you need to go shopping, the Shopping Lists feature automatically takes information from the recipe and depending on the number of servings you have selected, it calculates the necessary quantities for each ingredient.
The free version of the program has some of the functionalities disabled (e.g. you can’t import recipes from an online database or print the available ones). But it’s an exceptional program that doesn’t cost much so it shouldn’t be a problem if you like it and want it.
